And like her, she is also passionate and full of surprises. Beneath that classic Art Deco exterior lays a fiery Latin temptress. She offers the glamor, sophistication and style of a Grande dame with a healthy dash of the spice of life, the rhythm of Africa and the laid back charm of Portugal. Perched on a narrow horn on the Vilankulo harbor, surrounded on two sides by ocean, The Hotel Dona Ana stands. Her windows look out onto the splendour of the Bazaruto Archipelago. The area boasts one of the world’s largest breeding herds of Dugongs, as well as bales of leatherback, loggerhead and green turtles. The surrounding lakes and tidal pools attract flamingos, pelicans and many other water birds.

Sadly, for nearly 30 years Senhor Alves’s testament to his love lay empty and forgotten. Now new life has been breathed into the Hotel Dona Ana, energizing her with all the passion and mystery of her namesake.
The original Art Deco building has been intimately restored and updated. The design is a fusion of classic and contemporary, offering business travellers and tourists a differentiated accommodation experience where Portuguese and African tradition merge in unrivalled splendour. There are 22 rooms in the main hotel, including a Honeymoon suite and two Executive suites, while the beach wing boasts 28 classic sea view rooms as well as 1 Garden Suite with separate lounge and bedroom which all open directly onto the sparkling white beach. You can choose from separate or interleading rooms as fits your requirements. All offer unrivalled hospitality and comfort including air conditioning, mosquito screens, en-suite bathrooms, mini-bars, room service, 24-hour power, satellite TV, telephone access and data connection points.
