This year will be the year to celebrate and take in the excitement and atmosphere as 2015 marks the 40th year of independence for each and every Mozambiquan. There is no mistaking the unique culture and warmth of the people that make your stay unforgettable. Steeped in history with original influences of Bantbhbhu, Swahili, and Portuguese rule (Vasco da Gama landed in 1498 and Mozambique was known as Terra da Boa Gente “country of the good people”.

1975 signified the beginning of freedom and opened the gates for us to enjoy paradise. So pack your camera, put on your flip-flops and celebrate the change on a magical island getaway.

For a country who was left raw, take in the beautiful raw scenery on the Bazaruto Island which is the largest (approximately 37km long and up to 7km wide) and most northern of the five islands in the Bazaruto Archipelago. Take a cultural drive and share in the independence of a nation not forgotten.

You can honour the spirit of the good people and their land by taking in the exciting culture as well as the beauty of protected reefs, exquisite white beaches, dancing dolphins, starfish, Dugongs, giant lobsters, Anemones, Seahorses, Green Turtles, Manta Rays, Sailfish, even Flamingos. The list goes on.

Let your holiday be a happy Mozambican National Day, everyday!
